Work and Projects
Josh Knauer is building and advising ventures that align profit with purpose. He is the co-founder of ReSeed, a climate tech company that connects smallholder farmers to global carbon markets, and JumpScale, an advisory firm that helps mission-driven organizations design for resilience, health, and impact. On the side, Josh also designs and develops lightweight web and data applications—tools that turn complexity into clarity and support the systems-level change he champions.
ReSeed partners with family farmers around the world to increase household income by documenting and verifying the vital ecosystem services they provide through their land stewardship.
JumpScale is an advisory firm that works with mission-driven companies & organizations to design and scale regenerative strategies that align purpose, well-being, and performance.
Custom Web Development - Josh builds web apps for his own use and now for select clients who have a Tech for Good-related project. Here are some examples:
Seismic Data App - An app for visualizing the last 30 days' worth of seismic event (earthquake) data from the USGS, with the ability to search and sort by geographic location and date, and visualize the total number of events, magnitude, and date.
Land Carbon Calculator - Estimate carbon storage potential for land areas using satellite imagery and AI-powered analysis. Provides detailed carbon storage estimates, including above- and below-ground biomass and soil organic carbon.
BirdView - Data visualizations from my BirdWeather PUC Station, a truly amazing device that listens, identifies, and logs bird calls and shares the info through the Cornell Lab of Ornithology citizen science projects. This is an example of one of the many Nature Tech devices that I use to help identify and log wildlife.
Social Venture Network Mutual Aid Tool - A web app built to help members of the Social Venture Network ask for and provide help during times of need. SVN is a community of leaders committed to building a just and sustainable world through business.
If you have a tech for good-related project that could use some of Josh’s expertise in product/market strategy, tech evaluation or actual build-out, please let Josh know!
