    My professional background

I’m Josh Knauer, a purpose‐driven entrepreneur, technologist, and nature photographer who thrives at the intersection of data, design and social impact. From partnering with an indigenous community deep in the Amazon to bring data tools that protect ancestral lands, to advising Fortune 100 boardrooms and leading open‐data policy for the Obama Administration’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, I’ve spent my career helping people harness emerging technologies to build a better future.

As a two-time founder—Green Marketplace and Rhiza—both bootstrapped, profitable, and later acquired by public companies, I’ve raised over $100 million to scale ventures that balance people, planet and profit. Today, I co-lead ReSeed.farm, a climate‐tech platform for smallholder farmers, serve as Founder & General Partner at JumpScale, teach as an adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, and guide portfolio companies as an Executive-in-Residence at Columbia University Ventures/NYSERDA.

Outside of the boardroom, I’m an avid nature photographer and have lent my expertise to non-profit boards like the Social Venture Network and WQED Multimedia (home of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood). I mentor emerging founders, speak at events such as SXSW, AdWeek, and CES, and lecture at universities worldwide.

Whether I’m behind the lens, on stage, or out enjoying nature, I see the potential for positive change in emerging technologies, our abundant planet and human capacity.

    I'm also a photographer
